The rays of the warm glow of the sun entered the den. The sun was rising, signalling the end of night. The she-cat let out a yawn. She rose to her paws and gave a stretch. Feathertail looked around her den and realised that she needed catmint and cobwebs. "There are not much left. I'd better go search for more," she suggested. She groomed her pelt. "But I can't go search for them without eating," she meowed. She took a fresh-kill from the pile and sat down to munch on it.

A familiar voice was heard. "Yes?" she replied. The moment she turned around, she knew that the cat who called her name was Winterstar.

Feathertail turned around and realised that she had made her biggest mistake. "Oh my. I'm really sorry for my carelessness, Winterstar. I wasn't even focusing," she mewed, embarrassed.
